A Message from VGCC’s School of Health Sciences
The School of Health Sciences strives to function in alignment with the mission and vision of the college. In our efforts to explore equitable opportunities for all students, we are delaying the selective admission programs’ (NUR and RAD) application process for the Fall 23 entry. We will begin the application process on July 1, 2022. We understand that some of you are aware of the previous process and ask that you use this time to focus on your academics. Please do not follow the past process. Our advisors and program heads are available if you need assistance.
See Health Sciences for the new admissions policy when it is released on July 1, 2022.
Request High School Equivalency Records
VGCC does not process HSE diploma or transcript requests. All High School Equivalency (HSE) diplomas, transcripts, and verification requests for GED®, HiSET, and TASC tests are processed through DiplomaSender . Please contact Diploma Sender at DiplomaSender.com or at 855-313-5799 for your transcript requests or queries regarding transcripts or diploma.
Placement Testing
Placement into gateway English and Math courses for new students is determined by the RISE placement policy. RISE uses a student’s unweighted US high school GPA to determine placement rather than requiring placement testing for all new students. Students can only attempt the RISE EdReady placement test 2 times within 10 years.
The following students are required to take the RISE EdReady placement test unless they have transferable credit or placement test scores from other colleges or universities that eliminate the need for placement testing:
- Students who graduated from a foreign high school
- Students who earned an Adult High School Diploma
- Students whose GED or HiSET scores do not demonstrate mastery
