VGCC Volleyball squad signs up three more players

Vance-Granville Community College recently signed several more students to join the 2013 Vanguards women’s volleyball team.

Pictured above, from left, Nicole Oakley of Butner, Kayla Lyons of Manson and Jessica Sutton-Corrodus of Oxford are all new additions to the team.

Oakley (5’6”) is a VGCC College Transfer student with plans to apply to the Associate Degree Nursing program in the future. She was a setter and the captain of the girls’ volleyball team at Granville Central High School, which went to the state playoffs once during her tenure. Oakley also played Junior Olympics volleyball, in which she was named to the all-conference team.

Lyons (5’5”) recently completed her first year as a student in the Early Childhood Associate program at VGCC.

Sutton-Corrodus (5’2”) is a College Transfer student and a member of both the Phi Beta Lambda business student organization and the Phi Theta Kappa honor society.
