VGCC Vanguards struggle at Central Carolina

The Central Carolina Community College Cougars defeated the Vance-Granville Community College Vanguards men’s basketball team, 101-83, in Sanford on Jan. 31.

For the third straight game, Jayson Brown of Raleigh led Vance-Granville in scoring, with 21 points. Henderson resident E.J. Henderson added 14 points.

VGCC head coach Avery Wilson said his team (7-3) would work hard to correct its mistakes and return to its winning ways. He said he was looking forward to a rematch with CCCC on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. at Western Vance High School in Henderson. There is no charge for admission to VGCC home games.
