VGCC to be profiled on UNC-TV

Vance-Granville Community College will take a turn in the statewide spotlight on Thursday, Aug. 22, when UNC-TV airs a segment on the college during its nightly news magazine program, “ North Carolina Now .”

As part of the N.C. Community College System ’s 50th Anniversary celebration this year, UNC-TV has been producing short documentaries on each of the 58 community colleges in the state.

Earlier this summer, producer Rick Sullivan conducted interviews for this segment with the president of VGCC, Dr. Stelfanie Williams, and others at the Main Campus in Vance County and at the college’s high-tech simulation lab at Maria Parham Medical Center . Sullivan focused in part on how the college serves the community by collaborating with partners such as the nearby hospital.

The segment is scheduled to air Aug. 22 during the 7:30 p.m. broadcast of “North Carolina Now” on UNC-TV, the statewide public TV network. Afterward, the VGCC profile will also be posted online for viewing at www.unctv.org .
