VGCC Schedules Dessert Class at Franklin Campus

Vance-Granville Community College will offer a course that combines the art of cake decorating with the skills of “Pastry Art” at the college’s Franklin County Campus, located on N.C. 56 about one mile west of Louisburg. Classes will meet on Thursday evenings, Jan. 31 through March 31, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“In this class, you will learn how to make delicious desserts that will tantalize your taste buds on a shoestring budget,” according to Franklin Campus Director Anthony Pope.

The instructor, Chef George E. Blow, is an honors graduate of the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute, where he specialized in pastry art. His classes will cover topics such as safety and sanitary techniques, dessert presentation, icing techniques and following recipes.

The cost of the class will be $50.
