VGCC Offers Popular Scrapbooking Class

“Creative Scrapbooking,” a class that teaches students to bring memories of their life alive, will be offered at Vance-Granville Community College beginning May 29.

The class will be held on Thursday evenings for eight weeks from 6:30 to 9 at the VGCC main campus in Vance County.

Connie Roberson, a Henderson florist who has taught floral design classes at VGCC for several years, will instruct the class. She said scrapbooking is one of the most popular crafts being practiced now.

“Students bring in their personal pictures and scrapbooks, and we’ll teach them to decorate the pages with shapes and objects that are decorative and meaningful to the pictured events,” Roberson said. The class will include journaling so that a record of what happened will help put pictures and events together, she said.

People in the class will learn techniques that will help them appreciate their memories more, Roberson added.

Persons interested in attending the classes should pre-register by calling the VGCC Continuing Education office at (252) 738-3316. Roberson will call those who register and give them a list of supplies they will need for the class.
