VGCC names new Human Resources Director

Audrey K. Parker has been named the director of human resources at Vance-Granville Community College.

A resident of Bahama, Parker has over 20 years of human resources experience working at or providing support to various companies, including Duke University, IBM and Cisco. Most recently, she was the human resources and safety director/EEO officer for Durham-based Roadmark Corporation, responsible for employees in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Parker has also served as an HR consultant for the American Human Resources & Management Consulting Group & Training Academy.

Parker holds a bachelor of arts in communications from North Carolina A&T State University and a master’s in business administration from Kaplan University. She is a certified staffing specialist and a member of the Triangle Society for Human Resource Management.

“We are excited to welcome Audrey, who comes to VGCC with a wealth of knowledge in human resources,” VGCC Vice President of Employee and Public Relations Stacey Carter-Coley said. “She will play a leading role in recruiting, retaining and supporting our exceptional team of faculty and staff, and in continuing to make our college the best place to learn and work.”

In the 2013-2014 fiscal year, VGCC employed 557 instructors and 274 staff members, both full-time and part-time employees, at four campuses.
