VGCC honors Phlebotomy graduates

Vance-Granville Community College recently held a ceremony to celebrate the graduation of ten students from the Phlebotomy training program, which is offered at the college’s Warren County Campus in Warrenton.

 

The honored graduates included Ernestine S. Bryant, Barbara J. Bullock, Laketa D. Bumpers, April M. Haskins, Raymond T. Jones, Darlene Liddane, Melinda J. Matthews, Frank T. McGhee, Jr., Carmen R. Pate and Rita T. Poole. At the ceremony, held June 4 at Warren Campus, remarks were made by the Phlebotomy instructor, Kathy Hardee, and the campus dean, George Henderson. Poole spoke on behalf of her classmates.

 

Phlebotomists, also known as Phlebotomy Technicians, obtain blood specimens from patients in a variety of medical settings, including hospitals, clinics, mobile labs and doctor’s offices.

 

Another Phlebotomy class is scheduled to be held during the fall semester. To register for the course, a student must have a high school diploma or GED . For more information, call the Warren County Campus at (252) 738-3686
