VGCC Honors Graduates of CNA Program

Vance-Granville Community College, in conjunction with Kittrell Job Corps Center, honored 37 graduates of the Certified Nursing Assistant I program with a graduation and pinning ceremony on May 28 in the Civic Center on the college’s main campus. Upon successful completion of the North Carolina CNA I competency exam, the new graduates are eligible to work as Certified Nursing Assistants in a variety of health care settings, such as hospitals, skilled nursing homes and home health agencies.

Graduates of instructor Julie Cooke’s class included Crystal French, Dion Burroughs, Stanley Lilly, Jr., Qualeyah Patterson, Kayla Self, Jasmine Platt, Regina Sykes, Makia Williams, Marcus Walker and Lashanda Walker, all of Kittrell; Amelia Haynie, Cynthia Orr, Tonita Perry, Te’keia Thomas and Barbara Smith, all of Henderson; William Childers of Oxford; Kadeem Bender of Creedmoor; Felicia Hargrove and Angela Watson, both of Manson.

Graduates of Laurel Holmes’ class included Dominique Kearney, Tiffany Greene, Joshua Dumas and De’Ericka Crowder, all of Kittrell; Tomecia Overby, Ashley Macon, Angela Escamilla, Brooke Carroll and Christie Bachelor, all of Henderson; Luann Richardson and Wesley Lowe, both of Warrenton; Sandra Willis of Franklinton; Deborah Hunt of Oxford; and La’Toya Durham of Norlina.

Graduates of Emily Hamilton’s class included Michelle Altiner of Oxford, Alicia Haywood of Henderson, Debra McGaughey of Wake Forest and Kim Richardson of Manson.
