VGCC golf team loses first home match to Louisburg

In the first home match of its inaugural season, the Vance-Granville Community College golf team lost to area rival Louisburg College on March 24 by a score of 357-321. Lawton Perry’s 80 was the lowest score for the Vanguards, while Louisburg College’s best score was Kenny Wilkinson’s 79.

In addition to Perry, Phillip Hicks, Tommy Overcash, Michael Reese and Joshua Lorenzo also played for VGCC.

The event was VGCC’s first at its home course, the Henderson Country Club.

VGCC’s next home match, also at Henderson Country Club, will be versus teams from Johnston Community College and Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute on Thursday, April 9 starting at 1 p.m.
