VGCC Franklin Campus Helps Public Service Employees learn Conversational Spanish

course in the Spanish language specifically designed for public service employees and healthcare professionals will be offered at Vance-Granville Community College’s Franklin County Campus in June. The course will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings, June 4 through July 12, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The Franklin Campus is located on N.C. 56 about one mile west of Louisburg.This course is designed for English-speaking individuals such as police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians, who interact or work directly with the Hispanic population on a day-to-day basis. Students will learn how to verbally communicate at a basic level with Spanish speakers who have limited understanding of English. Instructor Nydia Dohnert will emphasize oral comprehension and verbal response skills, including greetings, introductions and descriptive questioning.
