VGCC Fall Registration continues through Aug. 16

The Fall 2012 semester at Vance-Granville Community College begins Monday, Aug. 20, and the last day to register for fall classes is Aug. 16. The upcoming semester’s course schedule is now available on VGCC’s web site by clicking on “WebAdvisor.” Printed schedules are available at all VGCC campuses and in boxes at various community locations.

Registration will be open to all new and returning students Monday-Thursday, Aug. 13-16. Hours for in-person registration are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Starting Aug. 6, students should see the counseling/advising staff in the Student Learning & Success Center instead of faculty advisors. Students also have the option of registering for classes online through the WebAdvisor system, through Aug. 16. High school students interested in taking VGCC courses through the Career and College Promise program should consult their school guidance counselors or a VGCC counselor. These students must register in person. For more information, go to vgcc.springerstudios.net/HighSchoolStudents .

Students may pay, verify payment or charge tuition and fees online through WebAdvisor (by Visa or MasterCard) or in person at the VGCC Business Office on Main Campus (or at the campus where they are enrolled) on the same days as registration. The Main Campus Business Office hours of operation during registration are 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, and 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Fridays. The payment deadline is Aug. 16 — by 5 p.m. if paying in person, or by midnight if paying online through WebAdvisor. Students will not be mailed an invoice or schedule of classes, but may view and print their charges and class schedule through their WebAdvisor account.

Anyone with questions about registration at Vance-Granville should contact the college’s Main Campus at (252) 492-2061 or visit any of the other campuses for more information.

FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE

Prospective students interested in seeking financial assistance are encouraged to visit the VGCC Financial Aid Office immediately and to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at: www.fafsa.ed.gov .

Eligible students may receive Pell Grants ranging from $602 to $5,550. Students may also qualify for other college or state funds. In order for a student to charge tuition, fees, and books to financial aid awards, the application must be processed entirely prior to the registration period. Students with preschool-age children may receive financial assistance to help pay for child care, and applications for this help are also available at the Financial Aid Office. For more details regarding financial assistance, visit the Financial Aid Office in Room 8215 on Main Campus or call (252) 738-3280.
