VGCC Continuing Education Art Students Create Mural

Lucy Mantes of Henderson, foreground, and Nancye Gray of Eppes Fork, Va., fill in the outline of poppies on a 4-foot-X7-foot mural being prepared by Lelia Brigham’s art class at Vance-Granville Community College. When completed, the mural will be framed and hung in the lobby of the Civic Center until mid-May, along with other paintings by class members, for public viewing. Except for the shading and detail work, all the painting on the mural was done with foam rubber brushes, the same kind a person would use on a house wall.
