VGCC announces Volleyball Schedule

The Vance-Granville Community College women’s volleyball team is scheduled to play 12 matches, including three home matches, during the 2014 season . The Vanguards compete in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III, which includes a number of community colleges in North Carolina and Virginia.

 

The Vanguards will begin this year’s campaign on Saturday, Sept. 6, with a tri-match hosted by Mid-Atlantic Christian University in Elizabeth City. Last season, VGCC defeated the MACU Mustangs in the program’s first match against a team from a four-year university. In addition to MACU, participating in the tri-match will be a squad from another four-year school, Christendom College of Front Royal, Virginia.

 

VGCC’s first home match is set for Thursday, Sept. 11, at Aycock Recreation Center in Henderson. The match is set to begin at 6 p.m. All of VGCC’s home matches are free and open to the public.
