Six Graduate from VGCC Nurse Aide II Program

Vance-Granville Community College recently recognized six students who completed its Nurse Aide II, or CNA II, program at the college’s main campus in Vance County. Pictured, from left, are students Robin Metcaif of Oxford, Trenine Latre of Henderson, Tracy Lynetta Harris of Oxford, Esther Monique Morgan of Franklinton, Gladys Fields of Henderson, Delores Sue Jones of Henderson and Clementine Judkins of Norlina. The instructor for this group was Linda Hahnel, RN, BSN. Nurse Aide I & II programs are designed to prepare students to become Certified Nursing Assistants. To register for a Nurse Aide II course, a student must first be listed on the Nurse Aide I registry, have a high school diploma or GED, and have a recommendation from an employer. Graduates of the Nurse Aide II program find employment at hospitals, nursing homes and home health agencies.
