Original Play by VGCC Students To Be Staged for Public April 6-8

Everyone is invited to attend the latest production, called “SOLE SEARCHING,” of the Vance-Granville Community College drama students.

This very exciting project was totally written by VGCC students. It began as a simple concept – shoes. Who embodies a pair of shoes, how many miles they have traveled, and what places have they seen? Each student was asked by their instructor, Betsy Henderson, to create a piece around a pair of shoes. The rest was up to the students’ imagination. If you attend the production, you will see for yourself that these students have lots of imagination, Henderson said.

“Please come support our very talented, creative students at Vance-Granville,” said Henderson. “I am very proud of their creation, and I hope you can come out this Thursday-Saturday and let us entertain you!”

Students featured are Carla Boyd, Brian Burwell, Melissa Edwards, Derrick Haskins, Megan Hill, Allison Layton, Crystal Norman, Stacy Ricks, Kayleigh Scott, Bryan Slaughter, Gwendolyn Stewart-Wheeler, Alana Tucker, and Kim Tucker. The production crew includes Daniel Stovall, Samer Jizi, and Chip Bradley.

Tickets are $6 for General Admission and $3 for VGCC faculty, staff and students. The show will be presented in the small auditorium in Building 2 on VGCC’s Main Campus at 8 p.m. on April 6-8. If you would like to reserve tickets or would like more information, contact Betsy Henderson at 438-VGCC, ext. 3371 or
