Nurse Aide Class Offered at VGCC Franklin Campus

Vance-Granville Community College will offer the Nurse Aide I (CNA I) course at the college’s Franklin County Campus, starting June 30. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., and will conclude on August 28.

The Nurse Aide I program is designed to prepare students to become Certified Nursing Assistants. VGCC’s certification programs offer classroom education, laboratory training, and clinical experiences in local nursing homes and hospitals. Jobs for CNAs are available at nursing homes, physicians’ offices and other healthcare facilities.

Registration will be held on June 9 at 3 p.m. on the Franklin campus, located on N.C. 56 about one mile west of Louisburg. To register for the course, a student should bring a Social Security card, a picture ID and a negative TB skin test result. There are no pre-requisites for this course. Susan English will serve as the instructor.

The cost of the course is $95 plus the cost of a textbook.
