LOOKING GOOD

Winners of the annual hair styling competition among students of the Vance-Granville Community College Cosmetology program show off their trophies and prizes following the contest March 25. Main campus student Chastity Judkins of Henderson, standing at center, took first with her creation, “Fantasia,” modeled by Jocelyn Alston. At left is second-place winner Shontay Hawkins, also of Henderson and the main campus, with her model Alexis King, with the creation, “Mardi Gras Heat.” Franklin County Campus student Apryl Dannemiller of Louisburg, at right, took third with her style, “Endangered Species,” modeled by her sister, Angela Dannemiller. Twenty-one students, representing the Cosmetology programs at all four VGCC campuses and at Southern Vance High School, participated in the competition.
