EXPO 2010 Seeks Sponsors for October Event at VGCC

Businesses and organizations are being sought as Gold Premiere or Silver Premiere sponsors for EXPO 2010, which is scheduled to be held Tuesday, Oct. 12 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Vance-Granville Community College Civic Center. This year, the business exposition celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Each year, EXPO provides an opportunity for organizations that do business in Vance, Granville, Franklin and Warren counties to set up exhibits and show off their products and services to the public and to other businesses. The first such event, then called the “Four-County Show & Sell Business Expo,” was held in the Civic Center on May 10, 1990, attracting more than 1,000 people. That success made it a local tradition, and EXPO has been held every subsequent year except for 1995, when a slightly different “Business Exchange” was staged instead.

The VGCC Small Business Center , Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce, Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, Granville County Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of Warren County are the organizers of the event. These agencies are looking for businesses and organizations to co-sponsor EXPO 2010 with them.

Two levels of sponsorship are available. A Gold Premiere sponsorship for $1,000 earns co-sponsor status with the SBC and the chambers of commerce. Gold sponsors are named in all publicity about EXPO, and they receive an exhibit space. Silver Premiere sponsorships cost $500, for which organizations get their name on all publicity, as well as an exhibit space.

The deadline for becoming a Gold Premiere or Silver Premiere sponsor of EXPO 2010 is May 3.

Anyone interested in this opportunity should call the VGCC Small Business Center at (252) 738-3240, the Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce at (252) 438-8414, the Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce at (919) 496-3056, the Granville County Chamber of Commerce at (919) 693-6125 or 528-4994, or the Chamber of Commerce of Warren County at (252) 257-2657.
