2 Computer Classes Upcoming Soon At VGCC Franklin County Campus

Are you a beginner computer user and need to learn the basics? Or do you want to expand your skills to preparing and maintaining electronic spreadsheets?

Either way, Vance-Granville Community College has a class for you coming up soon at its Franklin County Campus on N.C. 56 west of Louisburg.

Introduction to Computers/Windows will be held on Mondays, June 24 and July 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This course introduces the student to the personal computer and computer terminology. Windows commands are used in almost every software package on the market today so a sound knowledge of Windows will make learning other programs faster and easier. Students will learn file management techniques and formatting, as well as basic Windows commands.

An Excel 2000 Spreadsheets class will be conducted on three consecutive Tuesdays beginning June 18 and will run from 6 to 10 p.m.

This class will introduce students to the terminology, concepts and practical uses of an electronic spreadsheet. They will learn how to set up a basic spreadsheet, perform calculations using formulas and functions, and format the output for presentation purposes.

The cost of each class is $55 plus the cost of the textbook.
