VGCC offers free seminar for Entrepreneurs

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will present a free seminar, called “The Entrepreneurial Equation,” on Thursday, October 10 from 6 until 7 p.m. in room 7136 on the college’s Main Campus in Vance County.

Will Jakes, a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones in Oxford, will be the instructor for this seminar, which is designed to help educate business owners about tools and strategies to help make building, running and preserving a business easier.

Jakes will discuss key steps involved in achieving personal and business financial goals. He will touch on the importance of time management and attracting and retaining quality employees. Then, he will address retirement plans and techniques for preserving a business, including “key person” disability insurance and life insurance, deferred compensation, buy-sell agreements, Life Insurance Retirement Plans (LIRPs) and estate considerations.

For more information and to reserve a seat in this free seminar, call Tanya Weary at (252) 738-3240 or e-mail her at smallbusiness@vgcc.edu
