Kids at VGCC Franklin Campus Child Care get into the spirit

In late July, students at the Child Care Center on Vance-Granville Community College’s Franklin County Campus celebrated “Spirit Week,” which included musical parades on campus and a series of “Dress-Up Days.” Each day had a theme, including “Wear a Hat” Day (pictured in the top photo, from left, Chase Bible of Wake Forest, Morgan Phillips of Louisburg, Isaac Bradsher of Louisburg, held by teacher Lawanda Wilkerson, and Hailey Burnette of Louisburg), “Crazy Hair” Day, “Dress up like a Disney Character” Day (pictured in the bottom photo, from left, Morgan Phillips of Louisburg, Shepard Dudding of Louisburg as Mickey Mouse and Hailey Burnette of Louisburg), Tie-Dyed Day, and Music/Favorite Band Day. An ice cream social, water activities and a pizza party also marked the week.

“Our kids enjoyed expressing their creativity and building a sense of community with all the students, faculty and staff at Franklin Campus , as we prepare for the start of a new semester,” said Michelle Patterson, the manager for the child day care center . The center, which boasts a five-star license (the highest possible rating from the state of North Carolina), serves children of not only VGCC students and employees but also members of the community.
