Students returning to play VGCC Basketball

Several Vance-Granville Community College men’s basketball players from last season have officially returned to the Vanguards for the 2011-2012 season. Three returning Vanguards recently signed letters of intent confirming their desire to continue as sophomores. They are guard/forward Josh Coles of Danville, Virginia (who previously played for Wester Christian Academy), forward Clarence Garner of Roanoke Rapids (Roanoke Rapids High School) and guard/forward Dante Walker of Louisburg (Louisburg High School).

Coles received a Most Inspirational Player award from VGCC head coach Avery Wilson earlier this year. Garner was named the team’s Most Improved Player for last season.
