LATEST ELECTRONICS LEARNING TOOLS

Gary Daniels of Southern Educational Systems demonstrates the operation of the 32-BIT microprocessor recently acquired by the Electronics Engineering Technology program at Vance-Granville Community College. In the foreground is Jim Tart, Electronics Engineering program head, and Dan DeKock, instructor, is at the rear. The microprocessor processes data at the simplest level and is used in teaching computers at the basic level. Tart said it also brings students closer to the Pentium processor used in computers. Learning to set up and maintain computers is one of the functions taught in Electronics Engineering. Anyone interested in these classes should contact Tart at (252) 492-2061

Noel Brock, president of Future Tech, demonstrates a Sorter Conveyer System his company recently sold to Vance-Granville Community College for use in the Electrical/Electronics Technology program. At left is Leon Dillard, program head/instructor of the electrical program. With the system, students will learn to program and connect programmable logic controllers, which are the computerized controls for motors that all industries use. Anyone interested in the electrical field should contact Dillard at (252) 492-2061.
