Gang Awareness Seminar Offered At VGCC’s Warren Co. Campus

The growth of gangs and what can be done about them will be the subject of a seminar to be held at Vance-Granville Community College’s Warren County Campus on Wednesday, June 21.

Detective Elliott Hoskins of the Durham Police Department will conduct the seminar, to begin at 6 p.m. at the campus on Ridgeway Street in Warrenton.

Goals of the seminar are to increase gang awareness, provide information about gangs and why they are appealing to youth, provide information for recognizing whether gangs are in your community and whether youth may be at risk or involved, and to identify tips for parents and people in the communities.

Refreshments will be served at the free seminar.

The seminar is funded by the Governor’s Crime Commission, the N.C. Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and the Franklin County JCPC.
