VGCC Small Business Center Schedules 3 Free Seminars

Want a really good deal? How about a seminar conducted by experts on how to start a business or make a business more successful – all for no cost! Vance-Granville Community College has three such events coming up in the near future.

“Ten Steps to Starting Your Own Business” will be presented on Tuesday, May 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. This seminar covers what a person should know before committing financial resources to start a small business. Information provided will include a feasibility assessment and minimum start-up requirements, licensing, and financial and tax requirements.

If you miss the May 23 seminar, it will be repeated on Tuesday, Aug. 15.

“Getting Funds for Your Small Business” will be presented Tuesday, June 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. This seminar will discuss how individuals can improve and increase chances of credit approval and business loan approval. The session talks about the “five C’s” of lending – credit, collateral, capacity, cash flow and character.

On Thursday, June 15, from 1 to 4 p.m., “Customer Service Secrets and Skills” will be presented.

This customer service seminar will show attendees practices to keep clients and customers happy so that they return to your business.

All of these free seminars will be held in Room 7107 of Building 7 on VGCC’s main campus in Vance County.
