Conversational Spanish Class Offered At VGCC’s Franklin County Campus

To help area people communicate with the rapidly-growing Hispanic population, Vance-Granville Community College will offer a conversational Spanish class at its Franklin County Campus.

The 10-week, 30-hour course will be held on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. in Room F-105 at the campus on N.C. 56 west of Louisburg. Classes will begin on May 3 and conclude on July 12.

Nydia Vohnert will be the class instructor. The purpose of the course is to teach non-Hispanics to converse in Spanish. Vohnert will teach basic Spanish skills with an emphasis on comprehension and verbal response skills. She will stress greetings, introductions and questioning skills.

Cost of registration is $60, plus a $30 textbook. Interested persons can call the Franklin County Campus at (919) 496-1567 for more information and to pre-register.
