Ambassador Spotlight On Lynsay Allen

Meet Lynsay Allen, native of Belfast, Northern England.

Lynsay currently lives in Franklinton and is a radiography student.

Already equipped with a B.A. Honors Degree, Allen found it difficult to find work in her field of study and decided to enroll in Vance-Granville Community College to pursue a degree she was interested, and which offered many job prospects.

Her most favorite classes have been RAD Positioning and Procedures I & II. She has said that although the classes are very hard, she’d be lost without them.

Lynsay credits Dr. Lauren Noble for keeping her interested in class and getting her involved with the North Carolina Society of Radiologic Technologists, as she is one of only two student representatives on the committee.

Regarding what she likes most about VGCC, Allen says she likes the fact that instructors’ doors are always open, unlike those in a 4-year university setting.

Lynsay is a member of the Radiography Club, and a Senior Representative (South Campus) for RAD in the SGA.

She plans to further her education by obtaining a B.S. degree in health administration, and she hopes to one day direct a radiography or imaging department.

Allen is married to Jeremy Dunne and together they have two cats, Widget and Bramble, and one dog named Tobi.
