‘Wedding Planner’ Coming To VGCC C.E. Classroom

Do you have a wedding coming up? Do you have to plan an anniversary or big birthday party? If so, you’ll want to check out the Wedding and Special Events Planning class beginning April 15 at Vance-Granville Community College.

Dorothy “Dot” Overby of Kittrell, who has 36 years experience in planning, coordinating, consulting and directing social events, will teach the class. It will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9 in Room 5201 on VGCC’s main campus in Vance County and will run to June 3.

Students in the class will learn how to plan and direct all types of social functions, including weddings, receptions, anniversaries and parties to ensure that they turn out to be the successes they are meant to be, Overby said.

Cost of the class is $30. Call the VGCC Continuing Education office for more information and to pre-register at (252) 738-3316.
