VGCC South Campus Offers Notary Public Course
A two-evening class for persons who want to obtain a North Carolina commission as a notary public will be held June 17 and 18 at Vance-Granville Community College’s South Campus.
Classes will be held each day from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the campus on N.C. 56 between Butner and Creedmoor. Joy Grady of Creedmoor will be the instructor.
The purpose of a notary public is to prevent fraud and forgery. Students will learn what they may and may not do as a notary public. Students must be 18 or older, must be able to speak and write English, and must not have been convicted of a felony.
Cost of the course is $55, plus $16 for a textbook.
