Employability Class At VGCC Warren Campus Could Lead To Nursing Assistant Training

A Pathways to Employment program class will begin at Vance-Granville Community College’s Warren County Campus in April that could lead those who complete it into a career training field.

A Human Resources Development class in Employability Motivation & Retention will begin on April 8 to help students develop a positive self-concept, employability, communication and problem-solving skills. The class will meet until May 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 8:30 a.m.-12 noon Friday.

Persons completing this training could then enter Nursing Assistant classes on May 6 and running to June 25. Completion of this program will qualify graduates for high-demand jobs in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and doctors’ offices.

Unemployed and underemployed persons may qualify to attend the classes at no cost. For more information on eligibility and to register for either class, call Dorothy Williams, VGCC director of Human Resources Development, at 492-2061, ext. 3276.
