EXPO 2002 Coming Oct. 15, Offers Public $1,000, Prizes At ‘Community Gathering’

“EXPO has become an annual community gathering where visitors always see lots of their friends and neighbors,” said Diane Finch.

Finch, the director of Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center, was talking about the annual trade show held in the college’s Civic Center. EXPO 2002 is set for Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The public is invited during those hours to get a first-hand look at services and products offered by approximately 80 vendors who are located in, or do business in, Vance, Granville, Franklin and Warren counties. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day, and one lucky visitor will be drawn at the conclusion of the event for a $1,000 cash prize.

Even if people attending EXPO 2002 do not have their names drawn for prizes, they will be winners, Finch said. “Nowhere else can you see so many products and services offered by local companies under one roof at one time,” she said. “You can talk to the people who sell the products or provide the services and get all your questions answered on the spot.”

VGCC’s Small Business Center, the Granville County Chamber of Commerce and the Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce organize EXPO.

Numerous businesses help sponsor EXPO and help make it possible. This year’s Gold Sponsors are WIZS 1450 Radio, WICE 98.3 Radio, The Daily Dispatch, The Butner-Creedmoor News and Wake Electric. Silver Sponsors are McCracken Propane, ServPro, Staples, Oxford Public-Ledger, The Franklin Times, WHLQ 102.5 FM, and the Warren County Economic Development Commission.
