Franklin Campus Instructor Selected For ‘Who’s Who’

Kendra L. Faulkner, an Information Systems/Networking instructor at the Franklin County Campus, has been selected for inclusion in the seventh edition of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, 2002.

Nicole Marshall, an Information Systems student at FC from August 2000 to August 2001, nominated Faulkner for the honor. Marshall said of Faulkner:

“She was tough, but she made sure her students understood the material. She would stay late after class to make sure everyone understood, and she made sure everyone was prepared for tests.”

Faulkner goes the “extra mile” for her students, according to Marshall. “I live near Mrs. Faulkner and, if I had to be out of class sick, she would bring study guides to my house to make sure I didn’t miss anything,” Marshall said. “As a result of her teaching, I learned a great deal and made all A’s in her classes.”

Marshall is currently taking classes on the main campus but said she still returns to Faulkner for help, and the Who’s Who instructor willingly gives it.

Kendra Faulkner came to VGCC after two years as an instructor at Louisburg College. She is a graduate of Louisburg College and North Carolina Wesleyan College, and she earned a M.S. in computer information from Nova Southeastern University. She also completed the Cisco Networking Academy and qualified to teach that specialty.
