Instructors Nominated For Teaching Excellence

Five instructors at Vance-Granville have been nominated for consideration for the North Carolina Community College System’s 2002 Excellence in Teaching Award.

Tim Robinson, Criminal Justice instructor, has been nominated by the Public Service/Vocational Education Department. General College/College Transfer has nominated Crystal Brantley, English instructor. Roxanne Jackson, a Business Administration instructor at Franklin County Campus, is the Commerce Department nominee, and Beth Phillips, director of Nursing, has been nominated by Health Education. Ella Ruth Duncan, who teaches GED at Polk Youth Center, is the nominee for Continuing Education.

The nominees will prepare packets of information which will be considered by the VGCC Professional Advisory Committee along with their recommendations. The PAC will select one of the five to represent VGCC and be considered with nominees from the other 58 schools in the state system. The Excellence in Teaching Award is presented at an awards and retirement luncheon in November.
