2 Computer Classes Upcoming Soon At VGCC South Campus In Granville

Are you a beginner computer user and need to learn the basics? Or do you want to expand your skills to preparing presentations with the computer?

Either way, Vance-Granville Community College has a class for you coming up soon at its South Campus on N.C. 56 between Creedmoor and Butner.

Introduction to Computers/Windows will be held on Tuesday, June 18 and June 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This course introduces the student to the personal computer and computer terminology. Windows commands are used in almost every software package on the market today so a sound knowledge of Windows will make learning other programs faster and easier. Students will learn file management techniques and formatting, as well as basic Windows commands.

The Powerpoint class to be conducted on three consecutive Mondays beginning June 24 is for people who have a working knowledge of computers and who want to learn to prepare handouts or presentations. Powerpoint classes will run from 6 to 10 p.m.
This class will introduce students to slides, drawing tools, templates and graphs, and it will teach how to integrate these elements into a presentation format on computer screens, overheads or paper.

The cost of each class is $55 plus the cost of the textbook.
