Introduction To Italian Culture, Language Offered At VGCC

Vance-Granville Community College will offer an Introduction to Italian Culture and Language class, beginning on March 11.

The classes will run on Mondays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. through May 13. They will be held in Room 6115 on the main campus in Vance County.

Dr. Christopher Mussina, a second-generation Italian who has studied the language at North Carolina State University, will teach the class. He is a psychologist who practices in Raleigh and says he delights in sharing his heritage with others.

Dr. Messina plans to introduce students to the Italian language with basic grammar, common expressions and vocabulary. In addition, students will learn about Italian history and culture, such as food. “I’ll even share recipes of some wonderful Italian dishes with the class,” he said.

Cost of the course is $37.50. Class size is limited, and pre-registration is recommended. To register, call the Vance-Granville Continuing Education office at (252) 492-2061, ext. 3316.Text
