VGCC Student receives Fluor Scholarship

Daniel A. Crudup of Kittrell, a Vance-Granville Community College Radiography student and a student at Kittrell Job Corps Center, is one of a select few across the country who recently received a $5,000 renewable scholarship from the Fluor Foundation.

Once he graduates from the Radiography associate degree program , Crudup (pictured above in the Radiography lab at South Campus) plans to continue his education studying nuclear medicine or radiation therapy. Through KJCC and VGCC, Crudup completed training as a home health aide and as a certified nursing assistant before enrolling in Radiography. He has been named to the VGCC Dean’s List, and he has received an endowed VGCC scholarship and a Progress Energy scholarship. Crudup is currently performing his clinical rotation at UNC Hospital, where he has completed 100 hours.

The Fluor Foundation Job Corps Scholarship Program was established in 2003 and awards college scholarships on a yearly basis to students at the several Job Corps locations across the United States that are operated by Del-Jen, Inc. The foundation is associated with Fluor Corporation, the parent company of Del-Jen.
