Public Invited To See What’s New, What’s Happening At Expo ’99

Everything from electrical service to peanuts to pest control will be on display at Expo ’99 on Thursday, May 20, and the public is urged to check out what’s happening at the annual trade show at Vance-Granville Community College – and possibly win some nice prizes.

More than 70 businesses and agencies will display their products and services from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the college’s Civic Center. The event is free to the public.

“In addition to finding businesses to provide for their future needs, visitors to Expo ’99 will get a chance to win door prizes in drawings throughout the day and receive product samples and gifts from the vendors,” said Diane Finch, VGCC’s Small Business Center director.

The Small Business Center co-sponsors Expo with the Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce and the Granville County Chamber of Commerce. Organizations that are located in, or do business in, Vance, Granville, Warren and Franklin counties are included in the exhibitors.

Two vacation getaways provided by travel agencies in Henderson are among the many prizes that will be given away May 20. A-1 Travel will provide a trip to High Meadows Bed & Breakfast at Scottsville in the Virginia mountains, and Henderson Travel is donating a trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.
