Community College Tuition Increases With Latest Action By N.C. Legislature

For the first time in several years, tuition rates for community college curriculum students will increase statewide with the Fall 1999 semester, following recent approval by the North Carolina Legislature.

In-state students will pay $26.75 per credit hour up to and including 14 hours, with a maximum tuition cost of $374.50. Out-of-state students will pay $169.75 per credit hour per semester, with a maximum of $2,376.50.

Student fees will remain at $19 for 12 to 14 hours and $14 for less than 12 at VGCC.

OUT-OF-STATE:    $169.75 per credit hour each semester, plus student fees.
                                   $2,376.50 per semester with 14 or more credit hours, plus fees.

NOTE: For classification purposes, 12 credit hours is considered full-time status during Fall and Spring semesters. Full-time classification for Summer Term is considered to be 9 credit hours. For Financial Aid purposes, 12 credit hours is considered full time for all terms.
