Help with Job Skills offered at VGCC South Campus

Vance-Granville Community College’s South Campus, located on N.C. 56 between Creedmoor and Butner, will be the site for upcoming courses offered by the college’s Human Resources Development (HRD) Department. HRD classes are designed to help the unemployed and the underemployed with career planning, including job-seeking and job-keeping skills. HRD classes are free to qualified applicants, including those who are unemployed.

An HRD course called “Jobs for Life” will be offered at two different times: Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 until 11 a.m., and Mondays from 6 until 8 p.m. Both begin on Sept. 8 and continue through Oct. 20.

Starting Oct. 6, a course that helps area residents prepare for work in a medical front office will be available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until noon. That course continues through Dec. 3.

Finally, an HRD course called “Financial Reality” will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m., Oct. 14 through Dec. 4.

For more information and to register for one or more of these classes, call South Campus Director Jason Snelling at (919) 528-4737.
