VGCC offers Digital Photography courses

Two Vance-Granville Community College courses related to digital photography will begin in September on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

“Digital Camera Know-How & Photo Editing” will be held on Saturdays, Sept. 6 through Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. This class is ideal for the novice who wants to learn how to get digital photos from the camera to the computer, how to save photos to disks, and how to do basic digital photo editing. Rex Lue will be the instructor.

In the second course, “Digital Photos & Movie Maker,” students are encouraged to bring their own special digital photos to class. With the help of the Windows Movie Maker software, they will add text, music, transitions, and special effects to create their own movies. The course will be held on Monday nights, Sept. 8 through Oct. 13, from 6 until 10 p.m. Patrick Newcomb will be the instructor.

Both classes meet in room 7100. The cost of each course is $59, including fees.
