VGCC Seminar takes businesses from Good to Great

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will present a free seminar, entitled “Creating the Magic in Your Business: Taking it from Good to Great,” on Wednesday, April 2. The seminar will be held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. in room 7107 of Building 7 on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

Seminar instructor John Formica of Charlotte will help participants learn how to define the purpose of an organization, how to achieve superior teamwork, how to empower staff to want to do a great job, ways to make courtesy more important than efficiency, how to bring passion back to an organization, how to hire people to fill roles — not positions — and other “magical keys to success” in any business. Formica uses Walt Disney World as a “magical” example of a business continually producing a dynamic model of excellence.
