VGCC offers Yoga at Main Campus

Vance-Granville Community College will offer a six-week Yoga class on Thursday evenings, March 20 through April 24, from 6 until 7 p.m. Classes will be held in the Building 8 conference room on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

Kathy Larmon, who has taught yoga at the Henderson YMCA for about nine years, will serve as the instructor for the class. Larmon said that the benefits of yoga can include weight loss, relaxation, flexibility and increased strength. She added that yoga is a good way to exercise, relax the muscles and learn to breathe properly, and that while some people associate yoga with a particular religious practice, her courses are strictly fitness-related.

The cost of the course is $25. Students should bring their own mats.

Space is limited, so students are urged to pre-register as soon as possible. For more information, call Donna Dodson at (252) 738-3316.
