VGCC SNCAE chapter elects officers

The Vance-Granville Community College chapter of the Student North Carolina Association of Educators (SNCAE) has elected officers for the 2007-08 year. They include, kneeling on front row (above, from left), President Robin S. Williams of Henderson, Treasurer Lori Smith of Oxford and Vice President Beverly Nelson of Henderson; standing on second row (from left), Secretary Laura Alston of Henderson, Student Government Association Senator Gertrude Marrow of Henderson, Parliamentarian Letitia Crute of Henderson, Assistant Secretary Paulette Hunt of Oxford and Assistant Treasurer Esther Jiggetts of Henderson. Not pictured: SGA Senator Arlene Wright of Youngsville. The club advisor is Jacquelin Heath, head of the college’s Early Childhood Associate/Teacher Associate program.

SNCAE is a pre-professional organization for college students who are preparing for careers as educators. VGCC students in education, child care or college transfer courses are able to join the chapter. SNCAE is a division of the larger North Carolina Association of Educators, the leading professional organization for educators in North Carolina.
