Vision Screenings to be Held on VGCC Main Campus

Five local Lions Clubs are bringing the “21st Century Vision Van” to Vance-Granville Community College’s main campus on Thursday, November 15.

Free vision screenings will be offered to VGCC students, faculty and staff from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. near the Civic Center. The vision screenings will be conducted by a team of local eye doctors. If vision problems are detected, the eye professionals will offer advisement and discuss treatment options that may need to be considered. The Vision Van is a 60-foot-long mobile unit that travels across the state, conducting vision screenings under the sponsorship of the many Lions Clubs in North Carolina.

In addition to the vision screenings, the Granville-Vance Health Department will provide free diabetes screenings for VGCC students, faculty and staff on the same day.

The Nov. 15 event is sponsored by the Lions Clubs of Oxford, Henderson, Creedmoor, Townsville, and Epsom.
