VGCC Offers Charitable Giving Seminar for Attorneys, Accountants

Vance-Granville Community College, in conjunction with AXA Advisors, LLC will offer a free seminar on charitable giving for professional advisors on Nov. 28 from noon until 3 p.m. on the college’s main campus in Vance County. Lunch will be provided.Attorneys and CPAs are invited to attend the seminar, which will provide them with two hours of continuing education credits.Hank Fiumara of AXA’s Raleigh branch will conduct the seminar. Fiumara is a Certified Financial Planner, Retirement Planning Specialist and Vice President Southern Division with AXA Advisors. He was born and reared in New York and graduated from Manhattan College with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the United States Air Force before moving to North Carolina in 1997 to assume a position in the Office of the Chancellor at N.C. State University. In 1999, he joined AXA Advisors as a financial consultant – assisting families and businesses with their investment, insurance and financial planning needs. Fiumara has a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Utah and a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Salve Regina College.

“The VGCC Endowment Fund believes it is an important goal to help people accumulate wealth and encourage greater charitable giving in our four-county region,” said Jo Anna Jones, the college’s Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Endowment director. “To achieve this goal, we have partnered with the internationally respected funds management group, AXA Advisors, to offer local professional advisors a comprehensive half-day continuing education seminar focused on the most recent tax and estate planning laws and strategies.”
