VGCC Offers eBay Class

For those people who are cleaning out attics, basements and storage rooms this fall, a popular course at Vance-Granville Community helps area residents sell their unwanted treasures — and possibly find a few new treasures to buy — over the Internet through the eBay service (www.ebay.com).

“Buying and Selling on eBay” will be offered in Building 7 on the college’s main campus in Vance County, on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., beginning Oct. 6. Classes will continue through Nov. 10.

Instructor Michael Bacon will lead students through registration and the process of buying or selling items through an online auction. Participants will learn how to properly research, photograph, and list items for sale. Then they will track the progress of an auction and complete the sale. Upon completion of a sale, students will process the payment, ship, track the shipment, solve potential problems and use the feedback system. Related auction services for payment, shipment and products will also be covered in this class.

The cost of the course is $55, plus a $3 technology fee.
