VGCC Seminar Helps Local Residents Find Second Income

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will present a free seminar, “E-Z Money: Starting a Second Small Business,” on Thursday, Jan. 24. The seminar will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in room 7107 of Building 7 on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

Mike Collins of Wake Forest, president of The Perfect Workday Company, will lead the three-hour seminar. Collins, who has led numerous seminars at VGCC, will discuss how to create ideas for a second income through another job or small business, how to decide what type of business to go into, and the basics of starting a business.

Collins has a bachelor’s degree in radio, television and motion pictures from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree from Duke University. He is the author of three books, including “The N.C. Job Hunter’s Handbook.” Collins presents over 100 programs a year for organizations such as IBM, American Express, Pepsi-Cola and the Duke University Medical Center.
