VGCC South Campus Offers Seminar on Starting Small Business

For any entrepreneur who has ever thought of starting a business, Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will present a free seminar on Thursday, Oct. 5. The seminar will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in room G108 on the college’s South Campus in Granville County.

Jess McLamb of the Roper Group will lead the seminar, entitled “Ten Steps to Starting Your Own Business,” which will cover what anyone should know before committing themselves and their financial resources to starting a small business. The information discussed in this class should help participants make a feasibility assessment and understand minimum start-up requirements, licensing, financial and tax requirements, and markets.

VGCC Small Business Center Director Diane Finch advised that space is limited for this free seminar. To reserve a seat, pre-register by calling the Small Business Center at (252) 492-2061, ext. 3239, or VGCC’s South Campus at (919) 528-4737.
