VGCC signs Women’s Volleyball players

Two new recruits recently signed up to join the Vance-Granville Community College women’s volleyball team for the Vanguards’ 2013 season.

The first signee, Imani Guy of Kittrell, is a VGCC School-Age Education major. Guy (5’8”) is originally from Boston, Massachusetts, where she played volleyball for one season at the historic English High School.

The other new Vanguard is Erin Smith of Oxford. Smith (5’2”) played volleyball for two seasons in a homeschool league for the West Wake Lady Stars. At various times, her position was libero and setter. In 2010, her team was the NCHE East Division Champion and advanced to the state championship game. Since the fall of 2012, Smith has been enrolled in the College Transfer program at VGCC.
